2021: What’s new

2020 was… unexpected. It’s safe to say that the world has changed since Covid-19 .

In my last blog update (read here), I revealed that I was joining Web Imp as their inhouse digital marketer. I’ve had a great learning experience there, and becoming their marketing director helped me grow.

That said, I left Web Imp in December 2020. I’m immensely grateful to the opportunities that were given to me there, and I had the chance of working with great folks. My time there made me learn more about myself, about digital marketing, about running an agency, and what I wanted to do for the long haul.

I’ve taken the last 6 months in 2021 to do a few things:

  1. I got married in January!
  2. I did a ‘soft-reset’. Which means I took a short break to reset my personal and professional life.
  3. I revamped my digital marketing agency, Neetclick, from the ground up.
  4. I rented an office at Mountbatten for my agency while everyone else transitioned to WFH.

Here’s the plan for this SEOGoodGuys blog.

Previously, I used this blog as a way to get leads for my SEO services. The content that I published were a mix of reaching internet marketing beginners, in-house marketers, and business owners. That is about to change.

From now on, the content on this website will be targeted towards

  • people who want to learn SEO,
  • people who want to learn how to use SEO to improve their websites themselves
  • people who want to learn how to use SEO to make money online.

Neetclick

I’ve doubled down on refocusing my agency on SEO, and SEO-led content marketing. The time that I took away from my agency in the last 1.5 years weren’t in vain. I took the time to rebuild my agency from the ground up.

Final thoughts.

When the Covid-19 pandemic hit, a number of people I know became negatively affected financially. I’ve had clients that stopped their marketing engagements with me, I’ve had clients who had to shut down their business. Some friends lost their jobs, and some had to deal with pay cuts.

I’ve had some success using SEO to make a living online, and I think it’s time for me to share what are the realistic ways a beginner can also do so. I’m not going to heavily promote this – as I hope I won’t turn into one of those make-money-online ‘gurus’. I’m not promising anyone will make a fortune, or retire due to financial freedom.
